NAGAON: Dr Gajendra Nath, a physician was arrested from a hideout near Samaguri Phukantol by police on charges of physical assault on his wife on Sunday night. A case was registered against the physician in Raha Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code by his wife a year back following which the physician was absconding from police and took shelter at various hideouts across the district.
Based on a secret input, a police team from Nagaon police was able to arrest him from the house of Phukantol under Samaguri Police Station where he was taking shelter there.
