NAGAON: The investigation team constituted by Nagaon police (SIT) will file the preliminary charge sheet in the local court in the sensational Batadroba arson case in the next 15 days as the SIT has almost completed the inquiry into the entire episode, Central zone DIG Saityaraj Hazarika said while addressing a press conference held at Nagaon police reserve.
The SIT will submit the preliminary charge sheet in the Batadroba PS arson case right after receiving three special reports, Hazarika said. He, however, added that among 25 accused persons, police arrested 11 and one accused was killed in an unfortunate road mishap right after his arrest.
Besides, the prime accused Majida Khatun is still absconding and police are carrying out a series of search operations. He said that the investigation in connection with another case registered against negligence of the on-duty police personnel of the PS was also being carried out by an additional superintendent of police-level official and the report of the investigation would be submitted soon.
Hazarika also said that the Batadroba PS would be promoted to a full-fledged PS under an Inspector-level police officer soon. A unit of fire services centre at Batadroba PS campus will be ceremonially inaugurated, DIG Saityaraj Hazarika said. Nagaon Superintendent of Police Leena Doley and Additional Superintendent of Police were also present in the press conference.
