Programme on cutting, tailoring held in Kokrajhar district

A Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on cutting and tailoring was held on Friday at Pachim Maligaon Van Dhan Bikash Kendra, Samukhaguri in Kokrajhar district.

KOKRAJHAR: A Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on cutting and tailoring was held on Friday at Pachim Maligaon Van Dhan Bikash Kendra, Samukhaguri in Kokrajhar district. The programme was inaugurated by BTR Chief Pramod Boro, in the presence of Lawrence Islary, MLA of Kokrajhar (East), Reo Reoa Narzihary, EM, department.l of Industry, BTC, Ratan Mani Soram, DDM of NABARD, Kokrajhar, Bichitra Narzary, DPM of ASRLM, Kokrajhar, Maneswar Daimary, advisor, The People's Aid NGO and Nabokumar Basumatary, president, The People's Aid NGO at Pachim Maligaon.

The MEDP training programme was sanctioned by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Assam Regional Office, Guwahati to The People's Aid NGO, Kokrajhar. The training is to be imparted to 30 matured SHGs and will be for 15 days. The main aim of the training programme is to help matured SHGs' members to graduate into micro enterprises. With this training programme, it is expected that the SHG members will take up tailoring as a means of livelihood activity and start new microenterprises. For the year 2022-23, a total of 4 MEDPs, one Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) and one Skill Development Programme were sanctioned by NABARD, Assam Regional Office in respect of Kokrajhar District to benefit 270 SHG members and 30 unemployed youths of the district.
