KOKRAJHAR: The Asomi Bhogali Mela, organized by the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) in Chirang, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary at the Kajalgaon Market community hall. The Mela, running from January 8 to 10, is set to showcase the region’s rich culture, local handicrafts, and vibrant community spirit.
The Adomi Bhogali Mela is not only an exhibition of local products but also a celebration of the region’s vibrant traditions and culture. It continues to provide a much-needed platform for local artisans, farmers, and small businesses to connect with the wider community.
The event features a wide variety of handmade and locally produced items, with a special focus on products from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the region. The mela also promises a fun-filled schedule of daily competitions, as well as enchanting cultural performances each evening, providing a platform for local talent to shine. The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Sidli MLA Nirmal Kumar Brahma, Chirang District Commissioner Jatin Bora, and ADC Juga Krishna Rajbongshi.
