Rashtriya Kritagyata and Jagrookta Abhiyaan organized at Mangaldai Commerce College

ZSWO Darrang, under a special initiative of the Governor of Assam as a part of ‘Rashtriya Kritagyata and Jagrookta Abhiyaan,’ organized a series of outreach programmes.

MANGALDAI: Zila Sainik Welfare Office (ZSWO) Darrang in association with the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, under a special initiative of the Governor of Assam as a part of ‘Rashtriya Kritagyata and Jagrookta Abhiyaan,’ organized a series of outreach programmes on sensitizing students of different academic institutions of the district towards building a strong nation. As a part of this initiative, ZSWO Darrang on Saturday organized an awareness meeting at Mangaldai Commerce College. In the jam packed auditorium, ex-Navy official Dilip Deka of ZSWO, Darrang, explained the significance and importance of this campaign launched as per the initiative of Governor of Assam Lakshman Prasad Acharya and appealed to the younger citizens of the country to get involved in making a strong nation.

Senior journalist and President of Mangaldai Media Circle Bhargab Kumar Das spoke on the glorious heritage of Darrang District as well as on the rich and diversified heritage of the country, sacrifices of the freedom fighters and armed forces in safeguarding our motherland. He also discussed the important issues threatening the younger generation including the menace of drug abuse. In his speech, he appealed to the students to inculcate the character of ‘Nation before self’ and also to help others to grow that attitude so that India could become more developed in the days to come.

Lecturer of Mangaldai Commerce College Ujjwal Jyoti Saharia, taking part in the deliberation in the presence of Principal Ranjit Sarma and Lecturer Dhiren Deka, highly appreciated the initiative of the Governor of Assam and thanked the ZSWO Darrang for organizing such unique initiative to create awareness among the young generation to motivate them to making India a strong nation.

Mention may be made here that the ZSWO, Darrang has already organized such awareness camps in different academic institutions of Darrang and Udalguri at Bhergaon, Orang, Udalguri, Tangla, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mangaldai, JNV, Darrang at Udmari and in Mangaldai College. Col (retired) PN Giri, Commandant of SSB Parag Chaturvedi, Naval Veteran Dilip Kumar Deka, journalists Mayukh Goswami and Bhargab Kumar Das, Pratyush Kumar of IIT, Mumbai, and former Associate NCC Officer Major (retired) Leena Saikia took part as the resource persons.
