Guwahati: The Congress MLA from Mariani, Rupjyoti Kurmi has said with confidence that he is capable enough of becoming the next Chief Minister of Assam.
Kurmi also expressed his confidence that Congress party would form government in Assam in 2021. He said that the next Chief Minister of the state should be from the tea-garden community.
Speaking further on his claim, Kurmi said that over the years, he has gathered knowledge on various burning issues of the state. He hopes that he will be able to solve these issues once he becomes the CM of the state. Kurmi says he has travelled extensively throughout the state to understand the problems faced by the people.
Kurmi emphasised that Assam's tea tribe community requires proper representation in the politics as the community has made a huge contribution to various fields of the state.
