PATHSALA: The price of broiler chicken saw a sharp rise in Pathsala, with rates reaching Rs 200 to Rs 220 per kilogram in the local markets. Meanwhile, in nearby areas of Bajali district, the same chicken is being sold for just Rs 80 to Rs 120 per kilogram, sparking anger and confusion among local residents.
This significant price gap raised serious concerns. Many residents questioned the unfair pricing, asking, “Why are we paying double for the same chicken available at much lower rates just a few kilometers away?” In Pathsala market, not just chicken but even vegetable prices have soared. Common people were seen struggling due to the price rise.
Locals demanded immediate action from the district administration and the food and civil supplies department. Citizens called for strict price monitoring and uniform meat rates across the region to ensure fairness and stop exploitation.
