SIVASAGAR: As part of skill enhancement initiatives, the Department of Education, Gargaon College organized an Inter-class Discussion Programme on Thursday to hone the micro-teaching skills of the students. Dr Bidyananda Kakoti, Head of the Department, participated as the resource person of the programme and shared his knowledge and expertise with the students. He pointed out six different skills of micro-teaching.
Along with the departmental faculty members, a total of 150 students actively participated in the event. The programme was moderated by the general secretary of Gargaon College, Bhaskar Gogoi.
The Sociology Department of Gargaon College also conducted a career counseling programme in collaboration with the Counseling and Guidance Cell of the College on Friday. The event was presided over by the Head of the Department, Mina Robidas and inaugurated by Dr Rina Handique, the Vice-Principal of Gargaon College. Dr Dilip Kumar Deka as the resource person of the event and coordinator of the Counselling and Guidance cell pointed out the importance of the discipline of Sociology and its career options. Dr Surajit Saikia, the coordinator of IQAC, also participated in the event and encouraged the students to inculcate a growth mindset to excel in life.
