Renowned social worker Prasanta Kumar Sarma, fondly known as Bhaiti, was remembered with deep reverence on the occasion of his 6th death anniversary, observed on Friday.

PATHSALA: Renowned social worker Prasanta Kumar Sarma, fondly known as Bhaiti, was remembered with deep reverence on the occasion of his 6th death anniversary, observed on Friday. The day was marked by tributes and a felicitation ceremony honouring meritorious students who excelled in recent NEET, HS, and CBSE examinations.

The event was organized at the office of Udayan Sangha, a prominent socio-cultural and sporting organization of Pathsala, established in 1972. The ceremony witnessed participation from several local organizations, members of the Pathsala Press Guild, and town residents. Sarma’s wife, Purabi Sarma, along with other family members, was also present.

The programme began with floral tributes to the Late social worker, followed by the lighting of an earthen lamp in his honour.

Speakers at the event fondly recalled Sarma’s tireless dedication to social welfare, community development, and his compassionate efforts in uplifting the underprivileged.

As a tribute to his enduring legacy, several meritorious students from the region were felicitated. The initiative aimed to inspire young minds to uphold the values of dedication, service, and education that Prasanta Kumar Sarma exemplified throughout his life.

The commemoration not only celebrated the memory of a beloved social worker but also served as a reminder of the importance of carrying forward his ideals, which continue to shape the social fabric of Pathsala.
