JAMUGURIHAT: The Mahiram Daimari memorial entrance gate of Nabil LP School located at Towbhanga here was inaugurated by Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika today in presence of a huge gathering.
Inaugurating the school entrance gate, MLA Hazarika paid rich tributes to late Mahiram Daimari, a local social worker who donated one bigha land in 1942 to establish a school in that area. MLA Hazarika said that the family members of late Daimari have done an exemplary work to keep their dear ones’ memory alive. He declared a financial grant of Rs 50,000 for the boundary wall construction from his MLA fund.
The inaugural session was attended by Ajit Payeng, Rupali Barua, Raju Chintey, Shankar Das, Shyamanta Mech among others. All the proceedings of the entire session were conducted by Shantanu Goutam, head teacher of the school.
