TANGLA: The incessant rainfall in the region has taken its toll on the Tangla CHC building of Tangla town in Udalguri district as the roof of the hospital is leaking at several spots, which has also led to massive damage to the ceiling roof.

According to reports, the leaks have also damaged the furniture of the hospital. Talking to this correspondent, Dr Amulya Bhattacharjya said, "The hospital ceilings are in a pathetic condition which may fall any time causing threat to the lives of the patients and health workers. Moreover, due to faulty electrical connections, we are unable to operate the oxygen concentrator."

"The rain water has entered the OPD section and the damaged ceiling is posing imminent threat to the life of the health workers and patients," said Mira Boro, a nurse of the healthcare centre.
