Ten thousand Mahogany tree saplings distributed in Doomdooma to Boost Environment and Economy

DOOMDOOMA: Engineer Manikeshwar Deori of No. 2 Mohong Deori, who is currently working for Oil and Gas Multinational Company in the Netherlands, distributed 10,000 valuable Mahogony tree seedlings to the villagers at No. 1 Mohan village public ground, Bardumcha on Saturday.

Prior to the distribution of tree seedlings bought by Manikeshwar Deori himself, an awareness meeting on the benefits of Mehogoni trees was held under the presidency of Mohan Moran, President, Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha.

The meeting was anchored by Ratnakanta Moran, Secretary, Mohong Anchalik Yubak Sangha. Engineer Manikeshwar Deuri explained that there was a huge demand for Mahogony trees. “The demand for Mahogony trees in boat building, wooden furniture making etc. would never decrease. This tree not only protects the environment, but also helps one become self-sufficient economically,” he said. He also told them about the various uses of mobile phones.
