Kheroni: A
memorial service was held at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong to pay tribute to
Assam's three-time former Chief Minister late Tarun Gogoi on Thursday.
Congress party workers, supporters, and well-wishers of
the late leader paid tribute. They expressed their condolences and observed a
minute of silence as a mark of respect.
Everyone present at the tribute ceremony prayed for the
eternal peace of the departed leader.
A Congress worker said," the entire state is now in
mourning over the death of the three-time Assam CM, Tarun Gogoi. Today we
gathered here to pay tribute to our beloved leader. It's very sad that we have
lost a Guardian. Gogoi was the pillar of the Congress Party. Congress party was
powerful because he was leading the party. We hope that all the other leaders
of Assam will also become a leader like Tarun Gogoi."
