UBPO's executive meeting held at Ahomgaon in Guwahati

LAKHIMPUR: An executive meeting of the United Bodo People's Organisation (UBPO) was held at the Socio-Literary Cultural Complex of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, located at Ahomgaon in Guwahati on Saturday. The meeting was presided over by UBPO central committee president Manuranjan Basumatary. In the meeting, portfolio members of the central committee of the organization along with the members from 20 district committees out of 22 were present. UBPO general secretary Pitambar Brahma explained the purpose of the meeting.

After a prolonged discussion in the meeting, the house resolved to focus on the fields of education, sports and agriculture in the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) area. The house also decided to observe its 9th Foundation Day of the organization at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on July 18. In that event, UBPO will accord warm felicitation to the Bodo students under BKWAC area, who have secured the highest marks in High School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary final examination.
