JAMUGURIHAT: Hari Narayan Barua, the founder of Village Defence Party (VDP), was remembered on his 52nd death anniversary at Sootea PS on Monday. The village defence party celebrates this day every year throughout the State. This year the Sootea PS VDP observed this day with a limited gathering due to the COVID pandemic.
Kalpajit Sarma, officer in charge of Sootea PS, offered floral tribute in front of the portrait of Hari Narayan Barua. Later on Goutam Mahanta, circle organizer of Sootea PS VDP, Deba Bora, president of Sootea VDP, also offered tribute to Barua.
