Vocational training on piggery farming organized by 31 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal, Gossaigaon

GOSSAIGAON: A vocational training programme on piggery farming was organized by 31 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal, Gossaigaon at village Soraibil in the Kokrajhar district in which beneficiaries of border villages participated.

The event was graced by Dr Jayanta Deori, Commandant (Veterinary) of SHQ SSB, Bongaigaon, Dr LM Singh, CVO (SG) 06 Bn SSB, Raniguli, Dr Nilotpal Das, Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gossaigaon, and other dignitaries.

The vocational training programme was organized under the Civic Action Program to train people living in border areas on piggery farming techniques so that they can generate self-employment opportunities for themselves and their families. A total of 500 saplings were also planted in village Soraibil by local villagers and SSB personnel during the programme.

On this occasion, the campaign 'Har Ghar Tiranga' under the theme of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav' was also organized to encourage people to bring the tiranga home and to hoist it with a sense of pride to mark the 75 years of India's Independence. During the programme, villagers were also made aware about the salient features of the Flag Code of India and its amendments for initiating awareness and publicity campaign.
