DIBRUGARH: A webinar on 'Threats of plagiarism and its way out within the purview of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs)', organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MDKG College here, concluded recently.
Dr Parismita Sarma, Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Technology of Gauhati University, acted as resource person of the webinar. In her speech, Dr.Sarma dwelt at length on the definition of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), protection and promotion of IPR, trademark and issues related to copyright, digital property right, research misconduct, definition of plagiarism and issues related with plagiarism, types of plagiarism, unacceptable excuse for plagiarism, short and long-run consequences of plagiarism, tools and software used to detect plagiarism. Dr Nivedita Phukan, Principal of the college, inaugurated the webinar.
