Young businessman drowns at Hadhadi waterfall in Nagaon

In a tragic incident, a young businessman drowned in the Hadhadi waterfall near Chapalana, under the Samaguri police station in Nagaon district, on Monday morning.

NAGAON: In a tragic incident, a young businessman drowned in the Hadhadi waterfall near Chapalana, under the Samaguri police station in Nagaon district, on Monday morning. The young businessman, identified as Sanayam Jain (21 years) from Nagaon town, lost his life while enjoying water activities with his friends in the waterfall. According to sources, Sanayam Jain, son of Late Sudarshan Jain, was at the waterfall along with his four male and three female friends when he drowned. His friends and bystanders panicked after witnessing the tragic drowning of the young businessman. Soon after the incident, the local police as well as the SDRF team arrived at the spot and launched an operation in search of the youth. They recovered Sanayam’s body and sent it to the Nagaon Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Besides, police also started an investigation into the incident.

The news of the unfortunate death of the youth shocked the Nagaon community. Rupak Sarmah, MLA of the Nagaon-Batadroba constituency, expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family.

Several youths had previously lost their lives at the Hadhadi waterfall and blue water lake in the area. The conscious community of the small town has urged caution at such places and called upon the Nagaon district administration to take proactive safety measures especially at those tourist locations of the district.
