Meghalaya: BSF’s jazz tribute echoes patriotism across Dawki Border on Kargil Vijay Diwas

On Kargil Vijay Diwas, BSF Meghalaya Frontier honored the bravery of Indian soldiers with a moving Jazz Band performance at Matri Gate, ICP Dawki, organized by 4 Bn BSF.

Shillong: Commemorating the valour and supreme sacrifice of India’s brave soldiers during the Kargil War, the Border Security Force Meghalaya Frontier staged a soul-stirring Jazz Band performance at Matri Gate, ICP Dawki under the aegis of 4 Bn BSF on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The emotionally charged event was graced by Satish Kumar Dogra, Officiating DIG, SHQ BSF Jowai;  N.V. Siam, 2IC, 4 Bn BSF; along with two other officers, 10 subordinate officers, and 20 other ranks.  T.C. Chakoo, Manager, LPAI, and officials of LPAI were also present, reinforcing the spirit of institutional solidarity.

The BSF Jazz Band moved the audience with heart-rending patriotic tunes that soared through the hills of Dawki, each note serving as a poignant tribute to the gallant heroes of Kargil. “Their heroic sacrifice continues to inspire generations of Indians and stands as a shining symbol of national pride and unity,” said a BSF statement said.

Drawing local residents and Bangladeshi tourists alike, the performance transformed into a moment of collective remembrance and reverence. The poignant melodies, echoing across the Indo-Bangladesh border, were more than a salute to military triumph—they were a powerful reaffirmation of India's unwavering spirit of courage, unity, and sacrifice.

The event also fostered a rare moment of cross-border camaraderie, embodying BSF’s enduring commitment to peace, harmony, and mutual respect along international frontiers.
