SHILLONG: The Government during the Budget Session of the Meghalaya Assembly on Thursday informed that in the last three years from 2019 to 2022, it collected around Rs 754 crore of revenue from major minerals like coal.
Replying to a query during the Question Hour, Cabinet Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar informed that the ratio of the revenue from major minerals to be shared with the autonomous district councils is 75 per cent for the State Government and 25 percent for the autonomous district councils for coal. Dhar also informed that for other major minerals it is 40 per cent for the State Government and 60 per cent for the autonomous district councils concerned.
The Minister informed the House that the total amount entitled to by the three autonomous district councils as revenue share during 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 is Rs 174,63,77,654.
Dhar also informed that the State Government during 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 has released Rs 209, 39,36,458 to the three autonomous district councils.
He informed that the pending amount to be paid is Rs 21,01,25,236.
