SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Urban Affairs and Chairman of the Regional Committee for West Jaintia Hills District, Sniawbhalang Dhar, informed that the committee held a meeting on Thursday to review progress on tasks assigned to the district administration. “After a long time, we convened a meeting with all the members to review updates based on the outcomes of the last meeting. We had requested some other exercise from the district administration, and they have done it, and it is still underway, and they have yet to complete it, so that is just a meeting between us, and we are trying to check on the situation and whether everything is okay or not,” Dhar stated.

“Everything is normal, and the situation is under control, but a few more exercises remain,” Dhar stated.

He explained that the completion of these tasks might take another month or two. “I think maybe they will take half one month, two months after the exercise, so when they submit to the government, the government will take over the other counterpart, and then we will meet. Maybe I don’t know, maybe January or February,” he added.

When asked about submitting the report to the chief minister, Dhar said, “So we will wait till the full exercise is completed by the district administration; only then will we’ll see the report as per requested by the last meeting with both the chief ministers. I think they one month to one. I think it should be ready. Maybe after the MDC elections, because now all of us are busy with the MDC elections.”
