The biggest seizure of the week came on March 25, when the CID (SB) Operation Team intercepted a truck near Tuirial Bridge on the Aizawl-bound route from the Seling side.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 19.836 kg of suspected methamphetamine tablets — commonly known as Yaba — hidden inside a fabricated chamber built into the vehicle's headliner. The haul is valued at approximately Rs 15.87 crore.

Officers also found a US-manufactured handgun, two magazines, and 40 live rounds of 9mm ammunition concealed in a separate compartment within the vehicle.

The driver, Lalhnehzova, 23, was arrested. A case has been registered at the Special Narcotic Police Station under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.

Two days later, on March 27, Saitual Police intercepted a vehicle at Kualmawi, Keifang, travelling from Manipur toward Aizawl.

A search of the vehicle yielded 200 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing 2.298 kg, valued at Rs 4.596 crore. The vehicle was driven by Zamchinlam, 27, and carried a passenger, Dothanglen (Lelen), 36. A case has been registered at Saitual Police Station under the NDPS Act.

On March 28, a Special Team from Saitual Police again intercepted a Manipur-to-Aizawl vehicle at the outskirts of Keifang during a random check.

This time, 177 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing 1.927 kg — valued at Rs 3.86 crore — were seized from the possession of Mangminlun, 26, and Ginlemlal, 24. A case has been registered at Saitual Police Station under the NDPS Act.

A day later on March 29, the Special Team of Saitual Police recovered 242.79 grams of suspected heroin — packed in 20 soap cases and valued at approximately Rs 48.56 lakh — from Md Eliyach Hussain, 46, who was driving a vehicle from Manipur toward Aizawl. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.

On March 31, the Aizawl District Special Branch (DSB) intercepted two Myanmar nationals near Tawngtaimual in the Zemabawk area.

Thanglianmung, 26, and Manglianthang, 23 — both from Thinglei in Myanmar's Tidim district — were found carrying 9 soap cases containing 104 grams of suspected heroin, valued at Rs 20.4 lakh.

A case has been registered at Bawngkawn Police Station under the NDPS Act and the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. IGP (HQ) H Ramthlengliana confirmed that the duo's forward and backward linkages are being investigated.

In the most recent seizure, a Special Team from Khawzawl Police Station recovered two soap cases of suspected Heroin No. 4 — weighing 23 grams and valued at Rs 4.6 lakh — from a juvenile at the Tuisenphai Check Gate on April 1.

The accused, a resident of Champhai Tlangsam, has been booked under the NDPS Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
