MUMBAI: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) will host the Northeast Trade and Investment Roadshow in Mumbai on Monday, featuring key participants such as Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. DONER Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will also deliver a speech at the event.
The roadshow will include key officials such as Chanchal Kumar, Secretary of M-DONER; Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary of M-DONER; and senior representatives from several Northeastern states.
The event will host business-to-government (B2G) meetings, providing investors with the opportunity to engage directly with state representatives and explore investment opportunities in various sectors.
In partnership with FICCI and Invest India, this roadshow is the sixth in a series aimed at attracting investments to the eight Northeastern states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The participating states will highlight investment opportunities in sectors including agri-food processing, IT, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, and education.
This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve infrastructure in the Northeast, encompassing developments in roadways, railways, airways, and waterways under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Previous roadshows in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Bengaluru have garnered strong interest from investors, and the Mumbai event is expected to further capitalize on this success. The North East Investors Summit is scheduled for March 6, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan, to further encourage investment in the region.
