Sikkim Bags Gold Award For Best Emerging Eco-Tourism Destination

The honours are given in recognition of the impressive work that each government has done to carve out a niche for itself in the travel and tourism sector.

GANGTOK: The northeastern state of Sikkim has been bestowed with the best emerging eco-tourism destination (Gold) award on Outlook Traveller Awards and Carnival 2024. The prize distribution ceremony took place on November 30 in New Delhi.

The honours are given in recognition of the impressive work that each government has done to carve out a niche for itself in the travel and tourism sector. Bringing together prominent travel brands, influencers, industry leaders, and tourism specialists, the event was a highlight of the travel calendar, celebrating the finest in travel and tourism.

Uttarakhand's Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj gave out the award for Best Emerging Eco-Tourism Destinations. The award, which represents Sikkim's dedication to green and sustainable tourism and its rising stature on the ecotourism map, was graciously accepted by N Sridhar Rao IPS, OSD & Peden Bhutia, Asst. PRO from the Tourism & Civil Aviation Dept, Govt. of Sikkim.

In order to achieve this milestone, the department is grateful to the Chief Minister, the Minister of Tourism, and the Chief Secretary for their leadership and assistance.
