SKM Students’ Wing Gears Up for Sikkim’s 50th Statehood Day with Literary Fest

DEORALI: The SKM students’ wing on Saturday held its monthly meeting at Deorali to deliberate on various subjects, future programs, and plans. The meeting was presided over by SKM students’ wing president Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, a press release informs.

The Sikkim Art and Literature Festival, an annual initiative of the SKM students’ wing, is in plans to be organized this year as part of Sikkim’s 50th Statehood Day celebrations.

“The SKM students’ wing has successfully organized the ‘Read & Grow’ program and the Sikkim Art and Literature Festival in the past, and as Sikkim marks 50 years of statehood, this year’s literary festival will be organized with much vigor and enthusiasm. The Sikkim Art and Literature Festival will serve as a platform for students, scholars, artists, authors, and intellectuals as a whole and will include various constructive programs and events,” the release mentions.

Similarly, the SKM students’ wing plans to organize the Students’ Assembly as part of the 50th Statehood Day celebrations under the leadership of Chief Minister PS Golay.

The meeting also included discussions regarding the upcoming Sikkim Student’s Sphere (S3), a student podcast show created for and by students. The selection of hosts and the logo is currently in progress and will be finalized by the end of this month. After its formal launch by the Chief Minister, the podcast show will commence, the release mentions.
