AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, while echoing the central government's policies, expressed concern over attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh, emphasizing their need to be protected. His statement came at the end of the week-long 'Namo Yuva Yatra,' held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.

Dr. Saha spoke at the event saying, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always said that without youth unity, India's progress and strength are unattainable. Today's rally was a success. I joined the massive bike rally, encouraging the Yuva Shakti. Everyone is optimistic. We believe in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and we are committed to making Tripura drug-free," he said.

Dr. Saha countered criticism from opposition parties such as CPIM and Congress, who claim that the BJP does not have grassroots support. He said that this is far from the truth, citing the BJP's success in states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. "Election results speak for themselves. Let the opposition continue their baseless shouting. We focus on development, as guided by PM Modi. In Tripura, our government is advancing steadily with a developmental agenda," he said.

Urging the young people to look at their political affiliations again, Dr. Saha asked them to join the BJP, drawing attention to the ongoing membership drive. "Opposition-sympathizing youth should grab the opportunity to join us. You should not squander your time on futile opposition politics. We are the votaries of democratic values and believe in progress," he said.

Dr. Saha further criticized the opposition parties for creating disruption and alleged Congress for practicing "indiscipline in an organized way." He pointed out the silence of the party regarding the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh while being vocal about issues of international importance such as Iraq.

On the situation in Bangladesh, Dr. Saha underscored the importance of protecting Sanatan Dharma and maintaining security at the borders. “The attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh are an international issue. Our central leadership has addressed this, urging restraint and action to ensure their protection. Locally, I’ve instructed the DGP to monitor border security closely to prevent intrusions,” he explained.

The event was attended by key BJP leaders, such as BJP Yuva Morcha state president and MLA Sushanta Deb, BJP state in-charge Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MLA Sambhu Lal Chakma, and BJP state general secretaries Bhagavan Das and Bipin Debbarma.
