AGARTALA: In an exciting development, a group of one hundred students from various institutions in Tripura will get a chance to embark on an educational tour to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in April. The effort is an attempt to develop interest in space technology and applied science in young minds.

The initial phase of the program will witness 13 students from the South Tripura district traveling to ISRO. Out of these, five students from the Sabroom subdivision have been chosen on the basis of their academic performance and regular participation in science-related activities.

The chosen students include Shipra Shil and Tanushree Debnath from PM Shri Sabroom Higher Secondary Girls’ School, as well as Palash Tripura, Neela Debnath from Sabroom English Medium Higher Secondary School, and Rohan Tripura from Manu English Medium Higher Secondary School.

Significantly, Shipra Shil and Tanushree Debnath are regular members of their school's DNA Club, where they have been involved in several science projects and research works. The former MLA Shankar Roy wished luck to the shortlisted students, saying he was sure the ISRO visit would inspire them to study more about the fundamental sciences and information technology.

This program is in line with the vision of the state government to improve education through experiential learning and career-based opportunities. Through the exposure of students to the field of space technology, the program hopes to develop a new generation of scientists, engineers, and researchers, which will eventually lead to the development of science and technology.
