Trailokya Goswami, a revered educationist, dedicated social worker and inhabitant of Nalbari Satra (Chowk Bazar), left for his heavenly abode on January 15 last at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was 69.
Born on February 2, 1956, in Kachuwa village under Uttar Barkhetri Mouza of Nalbari district, he was a visionary who devoted his life to education, social welfare, and community development. From a young age, he displayed a deep sense of responsibility towards society and during his illustrious career, he served as the headmaster of Kaldi Gopalthan High School and Barnibari Milan High School and also served as a teacher at Laopara High School, Chandi Medhi Girls’ School, and Raghunath Choudhury High School before retiring in 2016 as Block Elementary Education Officer and Deputy Inspector of Schools (in-charge). He was actively associated with numerous organizations, including Kaldi Janata Gau Puja Committee, Barkhetri Vishnu Temple, and Barkhetri Dev Damodar Sangha and played a pivotal role as the Working President of the 10th Biennial Conference of the All Assam Dev Damodar Sangha.
He is survived by his wife, teacher Jusnarani Goswami; son, advocate Chandan Goswami; besides two daughters. His departure has cast a pall of gloom in the region and a number of organizations and individuals including Tangla Media Circle and Udalguri chapter of APCU, have mourned his demise and expressed condolence to the bereaved family members.
