GUWAHATI: The 79th Independence Day ACA U17 Chess Tournament 2025, organized by the Achiever Chess Academy at the academy premises in Rukmininagar, concluded on Friday. The tournament saw a total of 75 participants, including 21 rated players.
Shuvang Pran Kashyap emerged as the Champion, remaining unbeaten with score of 5.5 points out of 6 rounds. Swapnil Kar, Pragyan Puzari, Sarasvat Deka, and Ameya Gupta each scored 5 points, securing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions, respectively.
The tournament was conducted by the chief coach of Achiever Chess Academy, Khanindra Barman, while IA Monimala Sinha was the chief arbiter and Rajdeep Saikia was the deputy arbiter of the event, stated a press release.
