GUWAHATI: The 21st India Club-Anup Lahoty Open Tennis Championship- 2019, organised by India Club under the auspices of All Assam Tennis Association (AATA), will be held at club courts from January 23-27.
The championship is being organised for Boy’s Singles (U-12, 14, 18 years), Girl’s Singles (U-14, 18 years), Gentlemen Doubles, Senior Gentlemen Doubles (above 35 years), Gentlemen Veteran’s Doubles (above 45 and 55 years) and Mixed Doubles (above 35 years).The championship will carry a total of Rs. 1.30 lakhs as scholarship. All the winners and runner-ups in the Boy’s and Girl’s category will be awarded with cash scholarship. Cash scholarship will also be awarded from quarter finals stages. The championship Signing-in will start on January 22 from 3.00 pm onwards. Free lodging will be provided to all out states players.
An Organising Committee has been formed with Abani Barua as Chairman, Kalyan Kumar Das as Organising Secretary, Biswadeep Bora as Tournament Director, Ashis Agarwala as Treasurer and Priyanuj Lahkar as Chief Referee to run the championship smoothly and successfully. This is stated in a release.
