GUWAHATI: Assam lifted Col CK Nayudu Cricket Trophy (Plate group) defeating Pondicherry in a thrilling final by 2 wickets at the ACA Stadium here on Tuesday. Chasing 233 runs to win in the second innings Assam, started the day from their overnight score 127-2 in the second innings, reached the target losing 8 wickets. Rituraj Biswas (44) was the top scorer. Bishal Roy (37) and Ronit Akhter (27) were the other major contributors. Dipjyoti Saikia (Assam) collected Player of the Match Award and Nitin Pranaav V (Pondicherry) received the Player of the Tournament Award.
