GUWAHATI: India emerged as the undisputed champions in the Junior Roll Ball World Cup, clinching both the boys’ and girls’ titles in the tournament that concluded in Kenya on Friday.

In a dominant display during the finals, the Indian boys’ team defeated hosts Kenya 5-1, while the girls’ team secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory over the Kenyan side in their respective final.

Assam made a significant contribution to India’s success, with three players from the state featuring in the national squads. BP Hindu, representing the boys’ team, delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, scoring nine goals overall, including one in the final match.

The girls’ team also featured two talented players from Assam — Kristi Saharia and Dhanishtha Kashyap. Dhanishtha was in superb form, netting six goals during the competition, while Kristi added four goals to her tally.
