GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited Football club (OILFC) earned three points against Lenruol FC, Lakhipur in the second game (Guwahati Leg) of the Bordoloi Trophy Football Championship held at the Nehru Stadium here today.
OILFC took just 17 minutes to take the lead through Tulya Das. The side increased the margin within two minutes of the first goal and this time it was Akrang Narzary who put the ball into the net. The third and final goal of the match came in 68th minute and it happened when Milan Basumatary’s shot went into the goal hitting the left post. The victory margin could be 4-0 if Milan’s shot in the first half didn’t hit the bar.
Lenruol, who made first appearance in the competition, also created a few opportunities but failed to convert them into goals.
Meanwhile at Mangaldoi, United Chirang Duar defeated Hills United Football club of Diphu by a solitary goal. The all important goal of the match was scored by Urjay Brahma in the added time.
