91 Yards Club and Navajyoti Club won their respective matches in the GTC Men’s Challenge T20 Trophy at Judges Field on Friday.

GUWAHATI: 91 Yards Club and Navajyoti Club emerged victorious in their respective matches of the GTC Men’s Challenge T20 Trophy, held at Judges Field on Friday.

In the first match, 91 Yards Club edged past City Cricket Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, City Cricket Club posted 133/7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Rohan Hazarika (33) and Debajit Baruah (32) being the top scorers. In response, 91 Yards Club chased down the target in 19 overs, losing 7 wickets. Parvej Musaraf anchored the innings with an unbeaten 54 off 41 balls, including five over boundaries. He was named Man of the Match — his third award in the tournament.

In the second match, Navajyoti Club defeated Bud Cricket Club by 31 runs. Powered by a blistering knock from Nihar Deka (69 off 39 balls, 4 fours and 5 sixes) and a valuable 42-run contribution from Hrishikesh Tamuly, Navajyoti scored 153/7 in 20 overs.

Bud Cricket Club were bowled out for 122 on the final delivery of the innings. Dharani Rabha starred with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 21 runs. Nibir Deka (37) and Vikash Yadav (25) were the key scorers for Bud, but their efforts fell short.
