GUWAHATI: Lenroul FC continued their impressive run in the 70th Bordoloi Trophy Football competition, securing a 4-2 victory over Baradi FC at Judges Field today. The win helped them to march into the quarterfinals where they will face Shillong Lajong FC.
.With today’s match, the quarterfinal lineup of the tournament has been finalized. NFR Railway Sports Association will face ASEBSC in the first quarterfinal on Saturday, followed by the second quarterfinal between Global FC and Dubi Sports Association on the same day. The remaining two quarterfinals will be played on March 9, with Rani Coaching Centre taking on North East United FC and Shillong Lajong set to face Lenroul FC.
In today’s match, Baradi FC initially took the lead just four minutes into the game, with Malut Makri scoring the opening goal. However, Lenroul FC responded strongly, equalizing in the 26th minute through Alfred. The game then swung in Lenroul’s favor when Jehova scored to give them a 2-1 lead before halftime.
Baradi FC started the second half with renewed energy, quickly leveling the score at 2-2 through a goal by Balajed Syiemlei. Lenroul, however, maintained their positive momentum and regained the lead in the 51st minute when Josia scored. Alfred sealed the victory for Lenroul, adding another goal in the 55th minute to make it 4-2.
