GUWAHATI: Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Rangia won their respective Elite Group matches in the RG baruah U-16 Inter District Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
At ACA Stadium, Barsapara, Tezpur beat Lakhimpur by 52 runs. Batting first, Tezpur managed 151 in 27.1 overs with the help of Baibhab Borah (40) and Prithvi Raj Kashyap's (30) innings. Jitu Hazarika took 3 wickets for 34 runs. Lakhimpur were bundled out for just 99 run in 24 overs. Man of the Match Bastab Basumatary destroyed the batting order by taking 7 wickets for 36 runs.
At Amingaon Cricket Ground, Dibrugarh thrashed Golaghat by 52 runs in a low-scoring affair. Winning the toss, Dibrugarh were bowled out for 136 in 31.1 overs. Gaurav Deb claimed 4 wickets for 18 runs. Golaghat could not take the advantage and were all out for 84 in 26.5 overs. Gaurav scored 37 runs. Dyutimoy Nath took 3 wickets for 14.
At Nehru Stadium, Piyush Pradhan's six wicket haul gave Jorhat 114-run win over Morigaon. Jorhat scored 168 in allotted 35 overs losing 7 wickets. Amir Ullah Khonikar (28) and Aditya Bora (26) were the main contributors. Morigaon were bowled out for 54 in 18.1 overs. Piyush grabbed 6 wickets for 7 runs.
At ACA Stadium, Barsapara (Ground 1), Rangia beat Silchar by 20 runs. Chasing 167 to win, Silchar were all out for 146 in 31.1 overs. Abhishek Deb struck 63 runs. Sahil Haque and Pulak Kumar Sharma took 3 wickets each. Earlier, Rangia made 166 in 35 overs losing 7 wickets. Razek Siddik scored 42 runs.
