GUWAHATI: Top leaders of the AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad) and the RD (Raijor Dal) had a closed-door almost hour-long meeting over seat sharing here on Thursday.
The meeting was held in the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College & Hospital) cabin where RD president Akhil Gogoi is presently undergoing treatment. Among the AJP leaders present in the meeting wereits president Lurinjyoti Gogoi and its general secretary Jagadish Bhuyan. Besides the RD president, the party's working president Bhasco D Saikia took part in the discussion.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Lurinjyoti said, "We have almost finalized the list for 47 seats of the first phase. The details of the seat sharing between AJP and the RD will be made public in a day or two."
He declared, "Our stand is clear. The proud regionalist forces will never bow down before the nationalist powers of Delhi. We will not have any truck with communal forces as well."
