GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell (CM's SVC) on Friday grilled Hiran Saikia and Madhab Das, both of whom are serving as assistant tourism information officers. This follows the marathon grilling of former Director of Tourism Monalisa Gowami on July 8, in connection with anomalies in the appointment of eight assistant tourism information officer posts in 2010-11.

The CM's SVC has already summoned the eight candidates and interviewers in connection with the appointment anomalies. Saikia and Das were summoned by CM's SVC earlier also regarding the alleged increase of their viva-voce marks.

The investigators have already got the answer scripts of the eight candidates re-evaluated with the help of five professors of Gauhati University. Based on the report of the re-evaluation, CM's SVC grilled the former Tourism Director. She, however, said that she was ignorant of the anomalies.

Police sources revealed that all documents in the case have been forwarded to the Central Forensic Laboratory, and charge sheets will be filed after the reports are received.
