GUWAHATI: After winding up his Singapore visit, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his government is focusing on bringing sustained investments in key areas in Assam, not on chasing big numbers of investors.

The Chief Minister said, "We're trying to move forward to making Assam the best state in the country through our policies. We are reshaping our policies to be the best in the country."

The Chief Minister said that the mantra of the state government comprises simplicity, efficiency, and transparency to ensure ease of doing business in the state. "We have so far approved 2.50 lakh business proposals through our single-window clearance system," he said.

The Chief Minister further said, "Once we deliver three key projects on time-Numaligarh Refinery Expansion, Tata Semiconductor, and Namrup Fertiliser Unit-the entire business sentiment will move in Assam's favour. Assam knows its strengths and weaknesses. From a troubled state to a state full of opportunities, we are moving ahead steadily on the path of development."

The landmark event-Advantage Assam 2.0-will focus on attracting investments in the form of ministerial sessions and thematic sessions across various focus sectors, including electronics and semiconductors, road transport, new-age industrial infrastructure, renewable energy and hydrocarbons, defence manufacturing, etc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Advantage Assam 2.0 on February 25. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will chair the valedictory session on February 26, 2025.
