Assam: HS Final Exam Begins Today in State

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) will conduct the HS final examination from February 13 in as many as 856 centres and the HSLC examination from February 15.

GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) will conduct the HS final examination from February 13 in as many as 856 centres and the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examination from February 15. While the HS final examination will conclude on March 17, the HSLC examination will end on March 3, 2025.

This is the first time that the newly constituted ASSEB is going to conduct HS final and HSLC examinations.

The four streams of HS final have a total of 3,06,925 candidates—1,44,502 males and 1,62,423 females. The Arts stream has a total of 2,30,091 candidates, with female candidates outnumbering their male counterparts. The stream has 1,31,945 females, compared to 98,146 males. The science stream has a total of 57,724 candidates, with 32,977 males and 24,747 females. In the Commerce stream, the total number of candidates is 17,864—12,553 males and 5,316 females. In the vocational stream, the number of total candidates is 1,241, with 826 males and 415 females.

According to the ASSEB, all the examination centres will be under CCTV surveillance, besides a special control room of the board monitoring the examination centres from Guwahati. Apart from this, prohibitory orders will be promulgated under BNS section 163 around a radius of 100 metres of the examination centres. Police and security personnel will be deployed in all sensitive examination centres.
