GUWAHATI: Assam State School Education Board Division II has brought a slew of changes in conducting the remaining HS first-year examinations. The board has decided not to hold HS first-year examinations in any private and venture institutions, besides standalone (only classes XI and XII) provincialised senior secondary schools.
Based on the decisions taken in its meeting held on March 24, the board informed the inspectors of schools and the principals of the lead colleges to select temporary examination centres for conducting the remaining HS first-year examination.
The board decided that the centre schools/colleges will receive the sealed packets of question papers from the ASSEB, Division II, and will keep the packets in the custody of respective police stations/police outposts. The centre-in charges will receive the packets of questions from the OC at the police station/outpost on the day of the examinations only and will hand over the respective sealed packets to the heads of all the institutions tagged with the centre school/college.
The board told the inspectors of schools and the principals of lead colleges to identify centre schools/colleges in their districts for the purpose of receiving and issuing sealed packets of question papers. “While selecting the centre schools/colleges, the following points may be kept in mind: (i) All centres should be selected among government/provincialised schools/colleges only, preferably near a police station/police outpost; (ii) the standalone provincialised Sr Sec schools where only classes XI and XII exist should be avoided for selection as a centre; (iii) private/venture institutions cannot be selected as a centre under any circumstances; and (iv) the tagged schools/colleges should be nearer to the selected centres, as far as practicable.”
