GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the historic one-day special session of the Assam Assembly to be held in Kokrajhar on February 17.

The Prime Minister said that the NDA governments, both at the Centre and in Assam, have been working tirelessly to empower the Bodo community and fulfil their aspirations. These works will continue with even greater vigour, he said.

"I fondly recall my visit to Kokrajhar, where I witnessed the vibrant Bodo culture," the Prime Minister said.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "On February 17, Assam will achieve a historic milestone as Kokrajhar, once a hub of Bodoland agitation, hosts a special one-day Assam assembly session. A key agenda will be strengthening the administration of Sixth Scheduled Areas with the Governor's address as the major highlight. It has been made possible by the prime minister's unwavering love for Assam and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Their leadership continues to drive our journey towards peace, stability, and progress."
