Budget to provide social security to all: CM Sarbananda Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday asserted that the State Budget 2020-21 has provided steps to catapult social, economic, educational empowerment along with providing social security to all in the State.

In a post-budget presentation reaction, Sonowal said that the budget will benefit all sections of the people living in all the 33 districts of Barak-Brahmaputra-hills and plains. He also said that the budget will stimulate development and lend equal dignity, equal growth to all.

Sonowal said the budget has not been presented in the Assembly just for the sake of presenting. “The budget has been presented with a pragmatic approach to implementing the same on the ground,” he said.

Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Budget has included many innovative schemes for women, senior citizens, young entrepreneurs and different ethnic communities. It will touch lives of all sections of people, he said.

Dr Sarma claimed that the Budget will help working out a roadmap for institutional building and various ways for development of the State. “I am confident that the Budget will be accepted by the people of Assam,” he said.
