EMPOWERING TEA COMMUNITY
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI: To ensure futuristic development and empowering the tea community, the Assam Government has decided to constitute seven sub committees/panels for suggesting recommendations.
The decision in this regard was taken during an interactive session among Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and intellectuals as well as prominent citizens from the tea community. The event designed as "Humder Moner Kotha" was held at the Assam Administrative Staff College at Khanapara here on Monday.
Participating in the interaction programme, CM Sarma said that the tea community is an integral part of the greater Assamese society. He said the community has tremendous contributions in development of the State.
"Today's interaction is just the beginning of the BJP-led government's commitment to ensure progress and empowerment of the tea community. Discussion and interaction will continue for the next six months. The sub-committees will submit their reports within this year. On the basis of the reports of the sub-committees, the government will include various proposals in the State Budget for the next financial year (2022-2023) for development of the tea community," said the Chief Minister.
The sub-committees will give recommendations on health, education, culture, language, development of sports and other important issues associated with the tea community.
