DIBRUGARH: A key meeting regarding preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations was held yesterday at the office of the Dibrugarh District Commissioner. The session was chaired by District Commissioner Shri Bikram Kairi (IAS) and attended by key officials, including Bipul Kumar Das, Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad; Anup Kumar Brahma, District Development Commissioner; V. V. Rakesh Reddy, Superintendent of Police; and Dr. Saikat Patra, Mayor of the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC).
The meeting highlighted that Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will hoist the national flag and address the public during the Republic Day function in Dibrugarh district. Emphasis was placed on coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure the event's smooth execution. Key discussions included security arrangements, cultural programs, and logistical support.
District Commissioner Bikram Kairi stressed the need for seamless inter-departmental collaboration and assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the success of the Republic Day celebrations. He directed all departments to carry out their duties with dedication, underscoring the importance of upholding the dignity and significance of the event.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota had conducted a review meeting on Tuesday to evaluate the security measures and overall preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations across the state.
The meeting, which had been chaired by Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, was attended by Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh, senior officials, and district administrators. It had primarily focused on security arrangements for the central event at Khanapara, Guwahati.
The senior official had shared updates about the review on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing the need for a seamless and secure Republic Day celebration.
