DIBRUGARH: The Dibrugarh District Education Officer has officially announced February 2 as the date for Saraswati Puja celebrations across all schools in the district, in alignment with the academic calendar. This decision comes as part of the district’s efforts to ensure that educational institutions can observe the festival while maintaining their academic schedules.
Schools have been instructed to make all necessary arrangements to facilitate the celebration of Sri Sri Saraswati Puja, a significant Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, and arts.
Saraswati Puja is typically observed in the afternoon, but the district education department has announced that the celebrations will be held all day on February 2 in all schools. This change allows students and staff to fully participate in the festivities and respect the traditions of the occasion.
Despite the celebrations taking place, the district has confirmed that the Gunotsav evaluations will be held as planned on February 4. The festival will not change the schedule, ensuring that academic activities and assessments in schools continue without interruption.
The decision reflects the district’s commitment to balancing cultural observances with educational priorities, allowing students to partake in traditional celebrations while keeping up with their academic responsibilities.
