Guwahati: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has issued guidelines for conducting OMR-based examinations for Higher Secondary (HS) 1st year students.

The guidelines were issued for the heads of institutions where the HS 1st year examinations will be held. It states that after the completion of examinations for subjects using OMR answer sheets, the used and unused OMR sheets must be arranged in sequential order separately.

The guidelines further instruct that the sealed packets containing both used and unused OMR answer sheets should remain in the custody of the head of the institution until the completion of all examinations using OMR sheets, i.e., until March 27, 2025, or earlier if applicable.

Upon completion of the last examination where OMR sheets are used, the head of the institution must prepare securely packed parcels using cloth, enclosing all sealed packets of OMR sheets (both used and unused). These parcels should then be dispatched to ASSEB through the designated post office via speed post with an insurance facility.

The HS 1st year examination will be conducted from March 6 to March 29. OMR answer sheets will be used for answering objective-type questions in 12 elective subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Political Science, Education, Logic & Philosophy, Economics, History, Business Studies, Accountancy, and Finance.
