Assam: NFR operates extensive network of summer special trains

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is actively operating a range of special trains during the summer season to accommodate the increased passenger traffic and ensure convenient travel.

GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is actively operating a range of special trains during the summer season to accommodate the increased passenger traffic and ensure convenient travel.

Special services have been provided between key routes, including SMVT Bengaluru – Narangi, Dibrugarh – Kolkata, SSS Hubballi – Katihar, Silchar – Kolkata, Guwahati – Shri Ganganagar, New Jalpaiguri – Ayodhya Cantt, Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal, Katihar – Amritsar, New Tinsukia – SMVT Bengaluru and Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani. Additional train services are also operating between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, Sealdah and Jagirod, Udaipur City and Forbesganj, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Narangi, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Guwahati.

To maintain order and ensure the safety of passengers amidst the summer rush, NFR deployed Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel specifically for crowd management. Continuous monitoring through CCTV surveillance has been enforced at major stations over NFR. Additionally, commercial staff of NFR have been actively engaged and placed on high alert to manage passenger flow effectively and provide necessary assistance.

Understanding the continuing rise in passenger demand, NFR is also planning to introduce more summer special trains in the future. This proactive approach aims to cater to the needs of travellers and provide additional convenience during peak travel periods, stated a press release.
