Guwahati: The cybercrime branch of the Tamil Nadu police has arrested four individuals in Guwahati on Thursday for their alleged involvement in a digital arrest scam that duped a victim of Rs 3.2 crore.
The accused, identified as Dhrubajyoti Mazumder (24), Swaraj Pradhan (22), Prashant Giri (20), and Pranjal Hazarika (28), are currently at Paltan Bazar police station. The group comprises one local from Guwahati, two individuals from Sonitpur, and one from Sribhumi.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover the extent of their activities and potential links to other crimes. This arrest highlights the growing threat of cybercrimes and the importance of interstate coordination in combating these fraudulent activities.
