Guwahati: Nine-Member Gang Stealing Road Rollers Busted in City

In a major breakthrough, the Fatasil Ambari Police busted a gang of thieves stealing road rollers.

GUWAHATI: In a major breakthrough, the Fatasil Ambari Police busted a gang of thieves stealing road rollers. The police arrested a total of nine suspects in that connection.

The thieves used cranes and trailers to steal road rollers from various locations. They stole three rollers from Guwahati. In this regard, the police station received a complaint about a roller stolen near B Barooah Cancer Institute. During the investigation it came to light that the gang sold the stolen rollers to Satyam Mega Dump Yard in Byrnihat at Rs 1.70 lakh. The police arrested Mohammad Jabbar Ali, a truck driver, and Tyari Ali, both hailing from Amingaon. The police also arrested the factory manager, Daibaki Nanda Dogama.

The police conducted a raid on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of the six suspects. The arrested individuals are Ansar Ali from Hajo, Prabin Deka from Kalaigaon, Samsul Ali from Baihata Chariali, Jitu Baruah from Mangaldai, Chotu Kumar from Beltola, originally from Bihar, and Bhawan Talukdar from Patacharkuchi.

The investigation revealed that they stole two rollers from Bharalumukh and Birubari and took them away with the help of a crane.
